Hov Of Glastonbury

June 29, 2008

BBC News reported that…

Noel Gallagher has criticised the decision to have a hip-hop act headlining the Glastonbury Festival.

The Oasis guitarist said having rapper Jay-Z at the festival was the reason tickets had not sold out this year.

He said it was “wrong” to have a hip-hop headliner and added that organisers had changed things too much

Well, although I absolutely love Oasis and respect Noel’s great ability to write and sing songs, in this situation he is dead wrong!  Contrary to what he believes, the festival recently took place and Jay-Z tore the house down.  The greatest to ever do it, hands down.  The whole 38 minute set can be watched in the link below.  Peep Jay-Z’s lil’ jab at Noel by coming out to “Wonderwall”.

I don’t like country music but…

June 27, 2008

If you haven’t seen this, you probably heard about it.  And if you haven’t heard about it, now you know.

It’s all over the Internet (although I’m just finding out about it now) but the story goes some rowdy fan was getting aggressive by the stage, and at some point grabbed a woman’s hair and hit/punched her sister.  Good ol’ boy Tim McGraw saw this from the stage and decided to do something about it, calling upon security to take him out.  They didn’t get there fast enough so he pulled him up on the stage by the man’s belt, and at one point was ready to punch him in the face.

I may not care for his music, but he gets a massive amount of respect from me.  I just love how goes right back to performing… “I don’t want no trouble…”  I dunno if that was planned or not, but c’mon, that’s awesome.

Introducing Wale.  No not the animal. Wale (pronounced wall-lay) has been around the scene for a lil’ while now.  He recently got signed to Interscope, I believe.  He has built himself a big following and is well known in the street wear circuit.  This is the future y’all!  I have faith in this man!

ZeitGeist

June 24, 2008

The Meriam Webster Dictionary defines the word Zeitgeist as the general intellectual, moral, and cultural climate of an era.

I first heard about this movie a while back while browsing my usual cast of websites.  I heard about how good and thought provoking the documentary was, and have been meaning to watch it for a while now.  Yesterday, I finally decided to give it a shot.  The end result?  I enjoyed it very much so and it helped to broaden my understanding of the world we live in.  There are many controversial points that are brought up, and many bold/dangerous statements that are made.  I won’t say that I actually believe in everything that is stated in the documentary, but I do agree with a good amount of it.

The movie is broken up into 3 chapters.  The first dealing with the falicies behind Christianity and religion.  The second reveals the lies and fabrications made by the U.S. government concerning 9-11, and unveils the cloack that has been shed over our eyes.  The third and final chapter deals with the fake wars, secret agendas, and the future of our country.

Everything stated in the documentary is backed up with facts and research.  I encourage every single one of you to watch Zeitgeist, not so that you can hate the government and see that we are all doomed for eternity, but to better yourself and open your eyes to your surroundings and everything that is happening in the world today.  Once again, I’m not trying to persuade anyone into beleiving anything.  Take this documentary into your own account with a grain of salt, and draw your own conclusion of what you see/beleive.

Firefox 3.0

June 23, 2008

Yes!  Basically the best web browser ever has been upgraded and Mozilla Firefox 3.0 is out now.  Along with this release the good folks over at Mozilla tried to set a new Guinness world record of the most downloads within 24 hours.  I believe it was June 17th that this took place and it seams that they completely decimated the record.

Thanks to the support of the always amazing Mozilla community, we got more than 8 million Firefox 3 downloads in 24 hours. That’s more Firefox downloads than we’ve ever had in a single day — an impressive feat indeed!

Please be patient while the good people of Guinness review our World Record attempt. This might take a few days so please check back here. And, a huge thanks for all of your support!

Movie of the Moment: Akira

June 20, 2008

So it took me a long time to finally get around to seeing this movie which is one of the coolest movies I’ve seen in a while.  That isn’t saying much since I think a lot of the movies I’ve recently seen are pretty cool, but the point is, this has been around for almost as long as I’ve been alive and it’s taken me this long to finally see it, I wish I had seen it sooner.

But alas, better late than never, right?  Akira which, according to the English dub I watched is pronounced like A-kee-da, is about 2 best friends who are in a motorcycle gang in the future in Neo-Tokyo.  Well one of the friends has an accident and is taken to a hospital because of a condition he doesn’t know of.  The other friend eventually tries to get him out while also trying to go out with a revolutionary girl he meets in jail.  Meanwhile his friend in the hospital develops psycho-kinetic powers, which is why he was kept in the hospital in the first place.  His powers get stronger and out of control, and his best friend becomes him enemy because he tries to stop him…  or was he an enemy all along?

This movie finally became of interest to me once I realized it was the inspiration for Kanye West’s “Stronger” video, which is personally, one of my favorite videos (I dig Hype Williams and his use of colors).  Now after seeing the movie, it sort’ve gives the song another meaning… especially after watching the video another time.  Now I’m sure this song was overplayed…  Again, I don’t listen to the radio often, but I found a video that actually mashed both Kanye’s video and the movie together.  I had a lot to choose from but I liked this one best.  By all means, watch this movie if you ever get the chance.  Rumor has it that in 2009, we’ll get to see a live version of Akira and I don’t like to get hyped up… but I am.

Imagine

June 20, 2008

All week at work theres been alot of discussion about whats goin on the world today. We talk about war, oil, the stupid things that you hear people doing on a daily basis. The biggest thing we talk about though, is the war. We need to get out. I know im not sayin anything new but I have an idea what if we flew maybe like ten planes all over the world and installed huge, enormous sound systems on the out side of them and we flew them throughout the skies all over the world playing this song of the week………….

I think its universal meaning could help stop the war and maybe some other things. Imagine what John Lennon would be doing these days especially since he was an advocate for world peace. Hes probly turning in his grave every single day.

Also, I know this is kind of contradictory to my post but, I FUCKIN HATE YOKO ONO!!!!!!

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!         AAAAAAAAAAHHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!

Wow…

June 18, 2008

Most of you probably know that Lil Wayne’s album, The Carter III, released last week. Well, it somehow, someway, miraculously topped the charts and sold 1,007,706 copies according to the sound scan.

I don’t mean to be a hater but… are you kidding me? Are our youths that brainwashed? Why do they insist on supporting bad music? Plies came in at #2! What is going on here? I’m very confused and disappointed.I think that Wayne’s fans are too stupid to realize that the album leaked onto the internet 2 weeks before it hit stores. I think that they are too stupid to realize that they can just download it instead of buying it. I think his fan’s average age bracket must be somewhere between the ages of 3 and 9 and consist of little girls who don’t know how to read and write.

Anyways, check this out! The genius’s over at BMW could very well revolutionize the way we see/use/drive a car. This is their GINA Light Visionary Model Concept that makes use of a bendable/stretchable skin. Good ol’ German engineering.
